The Sonocene
An eco-podcast
The first season of The Sonocene spans the five boroughs of New York City, where a collective of individuals, organizations, local business owners, and grassroots activists share their ecological stories.

The ask of this project was to develop desktop and mobile versions of the site, and integrate the episodes onto popular podcast channels via RSS feeds.

The lead producer decided to use Squarespace as the landing platform. From there, I create navigation sequence which included an About or Home page, Episode list, Sound Gallery, Team, and Contact.
Each episode page has a listening feature, with description, as well as an episode transcript.

Mobile versions include a change of layout from the episode selection, as well as the sound gallery. Due to the nature of Squarespace, I worked with the HTML and CSS to make style changes to the audio boxes, as well as the fonts for a smoother visual experience.
A feature that sets this site apart from other podcast sites, is the sound gallery. The sound gallery features a library of sounds specifically derived from each episode. The site encourages listeners to engage in an immersive deep listening practice.

A large amount of time was spent working on the RSS feeds for the episode to ensure a seamless integration to Apple Podcasts, Google, and Spotify. The episodes are currently available for streaming.
